This surgery, which ensures that the breast is upright, full and symmetrical, is performed by placing a silicone prosthesis in the space opened in the breast. Many commercial forms have been produced according to the shape, content and outer surface coating of the prosthesis. The space to be opened for the prosthesis can be made by entering under the breast, around the nipple or under the armpit. Smoking should not be allowed one week before the surgery as it impairs wound healing and anesthesia comfort.
Breast augmentation surgery takes an average of 1.5 hours. It is done with general anesthesia. You are allowed to leave the hospital when you feel well. On the second day after the operation, the chest dressing is opened and a surgical bra is put on. There is no problem of dressing and stitching.
